Fresh off their European Tour, the guys got to perform with hip-hop legend, Juvenile at the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at UNC-Chapel Hill. It was a raucous, one and half hour set that included all of their hits, and their favorite covers. The social chair put it best when he said that “KontraBand Muzik was the highlight of the night”, and, Juvenile was so impressed that he asked DJ Unorthodox to set off his show and invited the guys on stage to party on some of his classics like “Back that Azz Up” and “Set it Off”. KontraBand Muzik made their first major step towards international recognition this April as they traveled to Rotterdam, Amsterdam, London, and Germany to showcase songs off of their new, self-titled album, “KontraBand Muzik”. They were a part of “New Skool Rules” in Rotterdam, a Music Festival dedicated to music from around the globe and hosted by MTV’s Sway. The guy’s took the festival by storm with cuts like “Rockin’ that Shit”, “Traded it All”, “Fame”, and their cover of T-Pain’s “All I Do is Win”. Working along side international artists, Phatt, Kasha (Britain’s new up and coming rapper), 8-Ounz from Block Ent., and many others, the guys called it “an incredible experience, and we can’t wait to continuing pursuing an international movement.” With killer shows in Amsterdam and London, the guys moved on to support the troops at the Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany. Performing at The Brick House, the guys put on “one of the hottest shows I’ve ever seen” (Matt Hawley, Officer). The guys plan on going across the pond in April, and will be showcasing footage of their trip on their youtube site, as well as their website. KontraBand Muzik has truly gone international.
